Have you witnessed a child at play? They are relaxed, alert, and self-directed. What you cannot see is that the child is experiencing optimal brain functioning, making neural connections while learning with ease.
According to Karyn Purvis, scientists have discovered that it takes approximately 400 repetitions to create a new synapse in the brain, unless it is done in play, in which case it takes only ten to twenty repetitions.

About the Instructor
Judith Frizlen is the founder of the Rose Garden Early Childhood Center, a LifeWays representative site in Buffalo, NY. After building the center for ten years, she converted it into a worker-cooperative so the employees could own and run the business. She is now writing books and articles as well as courses in cooperation with LifeWays. Sharing what she has learned over thirty years in early childhood education is her greatest joy, particularly in the role of grandmother. Her books include: Words for Parents in Small Doses, Words for Teachers and Caregivers in Small Doses, and Unpacking Guilt, A Mother’s Journey to Freedom. Currently, she is writing “Forty Stories of Grandma Love”.
