Valerie brings extensive experience in working with adolescents and families as a Waldorf movement teacher, wilderness guide, homeschool educator, and summer camp instructor, supporting students through group social dynamics and individual behavioral and emotional challenges. Valerie has taught Physical Education, served as Athletic Director, and developed the current Outdoor Program for the Portland Waldorf High School. Currently Valerie is the Student Assistance Coordinator at PWHS, where she is responsible for coordinating support for students with learning challenges and other behavioral, social or emotional needs, as well as organizing the Health and Wellness, Outdoor, Farm, and Service Learning Curriculums. Valerie completed the five-year Level I training in Spacial Dynamics in 2011 and continues to grow her movement education background through circus arts, acrobatics, meditative movement, sport, and facilitation.
