Oana has just relocated to Portland, OR after living in Spring Valley, NY for 4 years, time in which she performed and toured the North American continent with the Eurythmy Spring Valley Esemble and taught eurythmy to children at the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School in Newtown, CT.
She met the beautiful movement of eurythmy in her Waldorf Teacher Training classes at Antioch University New England and from the very beginning, she had the feeling that the space around her breathed with life.
She finished her studies at Antioch with Masters in Education and Waldorf concentration in early childhood, taught the wee ones for a year in Portland, OR and attended the Portland Eurythmy training. In 2005 she went on to continue and finish her eurythmy studies at Rudolf Steiner College which culminated with a graduation performance in Dornach, Switzerland.
Eurythmy is known to be explained as “speech and music made visible” and Oana thinks that this “doing” of beautiful poetry verses and of moving musical forms in a room full of children or adults can be “the glue” that keeps all of us healthy in our relationships with each other and helps us learn more about our spiritual selves. She is looking forward to sharing in the movement with everyone at the LifeWays training.
Oana teaches eurythmy to children at Portland Waldorf school in preschool, kindergarten, first and second grade and enjoys the tea shops and the very vibrant artistic life of Portland.
