A note about supplies: Mindy strives to create beautiful crafts that suit multiple skill levels or levels of desire, with upcycled and simple materials that you may have around the house. Details of the Course Content
From Mindy:
“This fall we will look deeply into the complete picture of the Nature Garden with all it’s beauty and wonder. The nature Table creates a sense of awe and appreciation of the wonderful ever changing world we live in. When the children walk into the room and look at the nature garden, they are immersed in the magic of color, shape form and all the characters of the kingdoms of earthly and heavenly life.
In each class we will use new handwork skills to create seasonal beings to use both at story time for your puppet plays and also for the Nature Table in your classroom or home. We will begin to learn how to create standing puppets that have movement and symbolism. We will start with a Mother Earth puppet and then create her family of helpers, seed babies, gnomes and root children, using sewing and felting techniques.
Late fall will bring us into felting and sewing King Winter with his snowy cloak and silvery crystal crown.
I welcome you to join us in creating beauty in a community of teachers and caregivers for this very rich study of Seasonal crafts and handwork.
Our pace of work will be slow and sensitive to each students’ ability and skill. I also have always felt that with crafting comes singing and short little tales of the season which I will look forward to sharing with you every week. We welcome our handwork friends from near and far and look forward to beginning this wonderful journey with you.”
